Gratitude and Status Quo[]

On the one hand, feeling gratitude to 'what is' is advocated as a powerful means to accomplishing your goals. Gratitude is a power in itself. On the other hand, one should not be content with 'what is', for it will - according to the rules of The Secret - create a status quo instead of growth. It seems there is a fine line between being happy with the current situation while at the same time the 'need' to want more.

Could someone please comment on this? --MarkSpetter 08:50, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Comment on Gratitude and Status Quo[]

Fine line? I think there is a distance of thousands of miles between being happy with contentment and aspiring for more.

All progress - whether technical, social or others - is the result of being not content with 'what is'. The moment we stop growing, we start decaying.
